Award - September, 2011
Destiny Support has been awarded Social Enterprise Mark in recognition of the work they are delivering for the Slough Community. This is the first organisation in Slough to receive the award.
The Mark establishes social enterprises as the business of choice for everyone and guarantees that a business is trading for people and planet.
The Certified Mark of Integrity, Inspiration & Interaction, was presented by Lucy Findlay, Managing Director, Social Enterprise Mark Company CIC. Destiny’s Intergenerational project kicks off! - August 2011

Destiny’s Intergeneration project kicks off thanks to O2 think Big funding!
Destiny Support Youth Volunteers have started an intergenerational project which will bring two groups of both the young and senior citizens together in a co-ordinated way to ensure that they are comfortable with each other and will include fun filled events. Mr Vijaya Gupta from Slough Senior Citizens gets 1:1 help from a young volunteer from Destiny Support, Freddie Marewa to produce a poster on the computer for one of their upcoming event.
Destiny Cafe' - July 2011

Destiny Support started operating a community cafe' last month at the new Chalvey Community Centre which opens on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 10a.m. - 2.45p.m.
Plans are under way for the facility to offer free training and volunteering opportunities for those who would like to build their skills in starting up their own catering businesses. Parent Partnership Service - September, 2010

Minister's visit - June 2010
Minister for Civil Society Nick Hurd recently visited Slough to consult with the voluntary and private sector about the services provided locally.

Summer 2010 - Afternoon Tea with the High Sheriff
Destiny Support CIC had great pleasure in being invited by High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire Mrs Catherine Stevenson in Ascot, Berkshire during a summer garden party.

skills and volunteering opportunities to enable Service Users get back to work funded by European Social Fund.
Successful Working Teen programme
A programme designed to give young people advice about the workplace funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Topics include: peronal empowerment, image, etiquette, money management, CV/interview tips.
December, 2009 - Senior Citizens Xmas party
SENIOR citizens received a surprise when the Home Secretary visited their Christmas party in Chalvey. The elderly partygoers were enjoying the bash laid for them by community group Destiny Support when Alan Johnson walked in with Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart.
The senor cabinet minister had been visiting Slough when he joined in the festivities at the Thames Valley community centre, Chalvey. Sue Njuguna, head of the operations at Destiny Support, said “Fiona Mactaggart said ‘I’ve brought you a very special guest; the Home Secretary’ so I had to quickly grab my camera.”
She added; “It was a social gathering for some of our senior citizens to get out, they ate, they danced away to the disco and we did give them a little red wine.
They had a fantastic time.” Ms Njuguna is now planning a New Year trip abroad for some of the pensioners who are clients of Destiny Support which works with hard to reach groups in the Slough area.

November, 2009 - Date with Destiny Support
A CAKE was cut by the Mayor as Destiny Support CIC celebrated its official launch and early success in Slough.
Destiny Support celebrated at Thames Valley Community Centre. Invited guests enjoyed a launch, presentations, testimonials and a speech from the Mayor of Slough, Cllr Joginder Bal.
The service offers support to those people across the community who are isolated and cannot get access to mainstream help.
A new service we are now offering is digital learning champions, which is informal adult learning aimed at people who have never touched a computer before. This includes confidence building workshops that help our clients with volunteering opportunities, CV writing and job application skills to help them get back to work.
